President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with representatives of African State Councils and Supreme Administrative Courts in Egypt to discuss the establishment of the Union of State Councils and African Supreme Court. The celebration coincides with the State Council’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, marking 75 years since its establishment. This is accompanied by participation by Minister of Justice Omar Marwan, and Chairman of the State Council Mohamed Hossam El Din.

El-Sisi meets with African State Councils and Supreme Administrative CourtsEgypt’s President reiterated that his country is keen to support the independence of the judiciary, including the administrative judiciary. He also encouraged his country to strengthen its role and position, since justice is a fundamental pillar of society and a guarantee of security and peace. Accordingly, the Egyptian constitution has been keen to affirm the independence of the judiciary and to prevent interference with it.

A wide range of issues were raised during the open dialogue with the President, mainly combating terrorism on the continent as a basic necessity given its threat to stability. African states and communities, together with the judiciary, must play a leading role in fostering coordination among African countries to build a unified and homogenous legislative environment, and thus advance the process of formulating a common future for Africa.
